IPRoMM is an acronym for Industrial Problems on Machines and Mechanisms, initiated as National-level Workshop held in 1986 at ATIRA (Ahmedabad, India) with an intent to connect academicians with industry personnel to discuss and solve problems faced by the textile industries then. Over the years, IPRoMM  evolved to be a reputed National Conference and in 2020, it was promoted to International status.

IPRoMM is organized under the aegis of Association for Machines and Mechanisms (AMM), a member organization of International Federation for the Promotion of Mechanism and Machine Science (IFToMM).

While IPRoMM is organized in even years, AMM also organizes iNaCoMM (International and National Conference on Machines and Mechanisms) in odd years.

The 2026 edition of IPRoMM shall be held on Dec. 20-22, 2026, at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Bengaluru, India. In addition to the contributed papers by academicians and researchers, IPRoMM 2026 also aims to attract participation from industries, independently or in collaboration with academia.
